Bigg Boss 19: Audience Unimpressed by Tanya Mittal–Amaal Mallik Romance, Call for More Genuine Drama

Every season, Bigg Boss tries to spark a romantic storyline by pairing two contestants, hoping to give the audience a couple to support. While it may seem entertaining inside the house, viewers today are far too savvy to fall for every onscreen connection. Over time, fans have seen many so-called “couples” fade away after the season ends some don’t even stay friends once the cameras are off.

This year, Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik are at the center of the show’s attempted love angle. However, fans feel the show is trying too hard to promote this pairing. Social media users have pointed out that Amaal is already engaged outside the house, and Tanya, though currently single, has had past relationships. The chemistry between them feels more scripted than spontaneous  like a calculated move to stir up buzz rather than a genuine connection.

Bigg Boss has always thrived on raw emotions, real rivalries, and unscripted drama  the things that reflect true human behavior under pressure. Manufactured romantic plots often feel like a distraction and risk taking attention away from the actual competition and personal journeys of the contestants.

Interestingly, another dynamic is catching viewers' interest this season  Baseer Ali and Farhana Bhatt. Nicknamed “Bahana” by fans, their evolving bond started from conflict and has shifted toward mutual respect. Unlike Tanya and Amaal, their connection feels more organic, which is why it’s resonating with audiences.

The makers of Bigg Boss must realize that today’s audience can easily spot the difference between genuine relationships and storylines created just for the camera. While pushing a love angle might bring short-term attention, it doesn’t ensure long-term viewer engagement. What truly keeps fans invested is authenticity  real gameplay, strategies, conflicts, and character development.

Whether Tanya and Amaal’s pairing will eventually win over the viewers or continue to face backlash remains to be seen. But if the show keeps forcing a narrative that doesn’t feel real, it risks alienating its core audience. Bigg Boss is at its strongest when it trusts the natural flow of relationships and lets the housemates’ real personalities take the lead.
